  • Lead Researcher on Utah Major Employers Guide, responsible for investigating and ensuring accurate information on the over 700 companies, non-profits and government agencies listed.  Composed all section introductions and edited proofs in timely manner to meet project deadlines.
  • Researched information for special publications on a wide range of topics, both by contacting organizations directly and utilizing government and public information databases.
  • Assisted in monthly magazine events, including setting up, managing sign in of guests, and answering questions about the event and content of the publication.

Mountain West Digital Library

Metadata Internship                                                                                                         May 2012 – August 2012

  • Received metadata training in Dublin Core, cross walking between schemas, sending queries across Open Archive Initiative, and creating metadata records in CONTENTdm.
  • Analyzed and composed report on spatial coverage usage in collaborative of 61 partners, highlighting interoperability issues, missed opportunities and innovative map-interfaces. (Available on online portfolio)
  • Researched existing standards and controlled vocabularies of geospatial metadata including TGN,  LOC Subject Headings and Authorities, UNESCO Thesaurus, and ISO 19115 2003.

  • Completed long-term institutional projects including initial reference cataloguing of museum collections for Official Board, accessioning and completion of American Association of Museum’s Institutional Assessment Application.
  • Improved historical records by identifying missing information and conducting research through primary source online databases, local historical archives and networking with historians.
  • Lead museum tour guide responsible for educating tour groups of up to 20 visitors, and co-wrote Bundy Tour Guide Training Manual.

Assisted professors in developing hypothesis on the types of documents shared across asymmetric participants in open source online communities.  Utilized NVivo software to code relevant information in 150 documents and webpages from 13 open source websites.  Worked remotely, holding all meetings through Skype and utilizing drop box and email to collaborate.
